Universal Design and Human Behavior workshop
"We have only two choices in dealing with our surroundings; we can accommodate our behaviors to respond to the environment or we can accommodate the environment to respond to our behaviors. The choice is ours!" Prof. Emeritus Paul Wolff of the Architecture Department will lead a three night workshop on UNIVERSAL DESIGN and HUMAN BEHAVIOR .

When: Three consecutive evenings between Tuesday, February 15th - Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Time: 6-8:30pm
Content: The Workshop will explore the following issues and more:
- What is the relationship between human behavior and physical settings ?
- Why do many environments violate our civil rights by discriminating ?
- Who has the least control of his/her environment ?
- Why do some places facilitate and others impede intended activities?
- What relationship exists between Universal Design and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)?
- Why is P.O.T. so essential to making you a more responsive/responsible designer ?

Credit: Students having attended all three nights will receive 1 unit of professional electives.
